Here's the story...
After back to Taiwan, I always try to continue wine tasting and try to look for wine tasting occasions and groups. The place I usually go for wine tasting is Evergreet, and definitely, I acquaint some wine lovers there.
One night, I attended a tasting occasion, which is hosted by Evergreet in Hyatt hotel. Besides of tasting, some wine lovers and I sit at the same table and chat about everyone's tasting experience. After I told them I've tasted about 500 wines in one year, they are bully surprised.
Afterward, a middle-age gentleman told me, "You already have enough experiences about wines, so I suggest you should reduce the frequency of tasting *normal* wines and go forward for *great* wines."
I was interested in why he gives such suggestion and how to start the "great" wines journey. He replied, "Just start from the wines in Bordeaux 1855 Classification, there are 62 chateaus (5+14+15+10+18) making red wines. And if you want, you can also cover the white part, Sauternes and Barsac, 27 (1+11+15) chateaus."
"After finishing Bordeaux, you can turn your eyes to Burgundy, and then other regions and other countries."
Well, it sounds make sense. If I just wallow in the *normal* wines, that's really a pity and also wasting my time and money. So why not start this interesting journey right here and right now? Especially the French Wine Festival hosted by 大潤發 was just a few days afterward!! Especially I just had a pleasant experience with an aged, matured and beautiful Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou!! Why not?
So, I create one new category, "1855波爾多列級酒莊", to push myself to keep going forward. Hope I can enjoy the joyful scenes on the way of this journey. 🙂
