Rhone! The variances!
May 24th, 2009 Phanix從 Berkeley 回 Santa Cruz 的路上，再次於 Redwood City 下車，去了 K&L wines 參加這天的 Rhone region 品酒。
On the way back to Santa Cruz from Berkeley, I get off CalTrain at Redwood City and visit K&L wines again for the Rhone region tasting.

Ridge 2007 Estate Chardonnay, Carlotta Cellars 2008 “La Reverie” Rose, Fernwood Cellars 2005 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and Martella 2006 Syrah.
第二部分是來自 Chain d’Or 和 Stefania 酒莊的酒款。
紅酒燉牛肉

會來做這一道菜是因為原本買的牛肉煎成牛排不是那麼好吃，所以乾脆來用燉的。所使用的紅酒理論上拿 Burgundy region 比較好，花香跟香料味道應該比起我所用的 Rhone region 紅酒好一些。
食譜是網路上找到，算是一道法國家常菜(?)，不過有些材料沒有，所以就稍微改了一下。用了紅蘿蔔、洋蔥、磨菇、大蒜、紅酒、牛肉、鹽巴、白胡椒、蕃茄醬(煮義大利麵用的那種)、油。
另外，我覺得這道菜很適合冬天來煮，夏天待在爐子前快兩個鐘頭實在是熱翻了。 stO

事實上這天還喝了 Silver Mountain 2005 Tondres Grapefield Pinot Noir，不過才剛聞到味道的時候就覺得應該有喝過，回來查一下確實一週前喝過了。不過今天才知道這款酒跟 Sonnet Tondres Grapefield Pinot Noir 不僅是來自同一區域的葡萄，還是出自同一個 wine maker 之手，只是用的桶子跟採收時間不同。
Fernwood Cellars 2007 Estate Chardonnay
很一般的加州 Chardonnay，香氣有木桶、柑橘、桃子，結尾的酸味不錯，但整體來說味道有點低鬱，不是給人很清爽明亮的感覺，那天去的時候又剛好吃得飽飽的，期待來一點清爽一點的 Chardonnay，所以不太喜歡這一款酒。
Ahlgren 2005 Bates’ Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon
很棒的 Cabernet Sauvignon，可以再放個一兩年讓丹寧更好。沒有之前喝 05 年份加州 Cabernet Sauvignon 的明顯花香，但除了不是很濃烈的黑醋栗之外，另外有黑莓、白胡椒、青椒、肉桂味道。
三款 Chardonnay

Serendipity
May 15th, 2009 Phanix前幾天 BBCall 講到了這個字，讓我想到了2001年一部以這個字為名的電影。Serendipity，中文片名是翻譯得很爛的「美國情緣」。
