Steel, metal mineral, green leave note, lemon skin, barrel, cream, yeast, milk powder. Very similar to d’Ardhuy 2010 Corton Charlemagne, but De Montille shows more yeast note. High acidity, long length.

2004 Corton Charlemagne, Morey-Blanc

2004 Corton Charlemagne, Morey-Blanc
Lemonade, white flower, orange, pineapple, light green leaves, pea, ginseng, soil, meat, and notes of yeast and honey. This 04′ Morey-Blanc does not have more aged note than De Montille 10′ and d’Ardhuy 10′. In addition, more complexity.

2014/1/12: creamy note, tropical fruit note (pineapple and banana). Has a bit citrus skin bitterness on palate.

SY Rating: 19/20

Pierre Morey, the previous wine maker of Leflaive, and the wine maker of Morey-Blanc. Morey-Blanc is his negociant brand, and he also owns his personal domaine, Domaine Pierre Morey. In general, 2004 is a tough vintage for Bourgogne white wine, but this Morey-Blanc is surprisingly good. I guess Pierre Morey probably gives up a lot of unripe grapes, and presses with stems, to extract more acidity and anthocyanins.

2006 Corton Blanc, Lucien Le Moine

2006 Corton Blanc, Lucien Le Moine
This bottle has the premox (premature oxidation) problem. Although still shows high acidity, the palate is a bit flat. Has some sediments and turbid in the wine. Cream, honey, lemonade, yeast, orange, vanilla, wood.

SY Rating: 16/20

The following pic shows the turbid condition of Lucien Le Moine (left), compare to the d’Ardhuy (right).

2009 Bourgogne Blanc, Comte Georges de Vogue (Musigny Grand Cru blanc)

2009 Bourgogne Blanc, Comte Georges de Vogue (Musigny Grand Cru blanc)
Mint, Chinese cough syrup (川貝枇杷膏), flower, boiled corn, popcorn, light flower, white peach, grass, old wood, white pepper, pickled vegetable. High acidity, medium nose intensity.

2014/1/12: creamy note, peach, gravel. pineapple, lemon skin, dry tangerine skin, a bit oxidized apple juice.

SY Rating: 19/20

My first Musigny blanc, very interesting experience. Different from other bourgogne blancs (Puligny, Chassagny, Meursalut, Chablis, and Corton), not too much citrus flavors, but more white peach note (not as strong as chardonnay from new world).

2011 Meursault “Vieilles Vignes”, Seguin Manuel

2011 Meursault "Vieilles Vignes", Seguin Manuel
As a “warm-up” tonight.
Hazelnut, pineapple, citrus, cream, wood, flower, curb stone, gravel. Medium+ intensity on palate, has bitterness note at the palate end, and sharper acidity than other Grand crus tonight.

SY Rating: 16.5/20
