Chateau Lafite 1999

medium garnet, light brick/brown hue.

Black pepper, green pepper, clove, black berries, soy sauce, soy sauce pickled squash, tangerine skin, plastic glue, chocolate, light brown sugar, mushroom, light bouquet and honey, light smoky, light melon (cantaloupe). (in a kitchen with sunlight shedding?)
Shows more diverse aromas, and changes quickly.

Medium+ body, black berry, chocolate, licorice. medium tangerine acid. Tannin is maturing, but still young.

Chateau Latour 1988

medium garnet, light orange/brick rim.

Chocolate, coffee, caramel, wet soil and black mushroom dominate the nose. Besides, it also shows the hints of black pepper, plum, cinnamon, tobacco, licorice, and leather. (a hunting camp?) More concentrated nose than Lafite 1999.

Medium+ body. Velvet tannin coats the whole mouth. Plum, chocolate, cinnamon. Medium acid.

Chateau Mouton 1989

Medium garnet, brick brown rim.
Medium+ nose. Tobacco, black pepper, clove, soy sauce pickled squash, wet leaves and soil, sweet flavors of dry berries, light bouquet, light smoky. (This makes me want to have some roast games, such as ducks, in out field).
As the temperature climbing, it shows more sweet aromas. Such as fruity berries, ripe plums, bouquet, tea leaves and light honey and green onion hints.

Medium-Full body, medium matured tannin. Black pepper, chocolate, orange, chili pepper, cinnamon and licorice. Lingering in mouth. The medium+ acidity enriches saliva.

Chateau Haut-Brion 1988

Medium garnet, brick brown rim.
Medium-pronounced nose. Dry floral bouquet, brown sugar, raisin, dust, coffee, soy sauce pickled squash, light grass, light vanilla, juniper. A little bit similar to Mouton 1989, but Haut-Brion shows more sweetness at the beginning.
As time goes by and temperature climbs up, this Haut-Brion shows more coffee, caramel, tea, and wet wood nose, mushroom, with light spices note. Like in an old coffee & tea shop.

Medium+ body, medium+ acidity (enriches saliva), medium matured tannin. Chocolate, coffee, tea leaves, mandarin medicines, pickled plum, light black pepper. Lingering! Very good!

Chateau Margaux 2001

Medium garnet, light ruby hue.
Medium-pronounced nose. Strawberry, apple juice (!interesting!), bouquet, fur, cinnamon, black pepper, plum, black berry, pomegranate, leather. Typical Margaux region style. Then, more elegant bouquet and fruity berries and chocolate.

Medium+ body, medium tannin (maturing, can keep for a few more years). Medium acidity. Chocolate, wood, black berries, light mandarin medicine bitterness.
