Seguin Manuel Bourgogne Blanc 2012
Citrus flavors (orange) at the begging, and then the creamy nose comes up. Yeast, light honey, and floral. The above average acidity is crisp. Easy to drink, but the quality and structure are good.
SY Rating: 16/20
Seguin Manuel Meursault "Vieilles Vignes" 2011
Clos du Cromin.
Mineral nose, like raining on the sidewalk curb in hot summer afternoon. Lemon, boiled corn, oak, and a note of vanilla. High acidity. Not as buttery as typical Meursault, but more elegant.
SY Rating: 17/20
Seguin Manuel Puligny-Montrachet 1er cru "La Garenne" 2011
Stronger and fuller than Meursault. Citrus, butter baked corn, flint, stem green nose, oak barrel. High acidity. Very long length.
SY Rating: 18/20
Seguin Manuel Bourgogne Rouge 2012
Fruity style Bourgogne AOC Pinot Noir, not a thin, light and floral style Bourgogne. Apparently a Côte de Beaune (the datasheet shows the grapes are from Volnay and Chorey-lès-Beaune). Medium length and acidity. Fruity of raspberry and strawberry, with hints of soil and grass.
SY Rating: 16/20
Seguin Manuel Savigny-les-Beaune 1er cru "Lavieres" 2011
Red cherry, light flower, light leather, and grass. An elegant and light version of Savigny-les-Beaune. This vintage 11' is thinner than 10', but the acidity is crisper. If prefers a fruity style, Savigny-les-Beaune V.V. I tasted before is much better. Otherwise, "Lavieres" is a bargain choice, if looking for an elegant style.
SY Rating: 17/20
Seguin Manuel Pommard 1er cru "Clos Blanc" 2011
The most surprising btl. in this tasting. Typical dense and wild animal Pommard. Start with beast fur, dense black berry, wet soil and grass. Then floral perfume, caramel, and grass jelly with honey (仙草蜜). Very impressive length, acidity, and body.
SY Rating: 18/20
Seguin Manuel Corton Grand Cru 2010
Too early for this 10' vintage. Will be better aft aging. Black berry, strawberry, mint, and a note of eucalyptus leaves. High acidity, long length, and firm tannin.
SY Rating: 18.5/20
