Lecheneaut Tasting

Before sharing the tasting notes, my personal opinions are... I guess Lecheneaut probably extract too much in their village wines. Higher fermentation temperature (~34) contributes rich flavors and aromas, however, it also brings a bit rough tannin. I think more aging probably gives these village wines some improvements.

Lecheneaut 2009 Marsannay "Les Sampagny"

Tannin is medium, but not as smooth as expected. Medium body, medium+ acidity, and medium alc. Clove, light bitterness at end, medium+ length.

[/ezcol_1quarter] [ezcol_3quarter_end] Medium ruby, medium nose. Black cherry, raspberry, mashed grass, mint, herbal medicine patch (草藥酸痛貼布), light floral bouquet, old leather belt, lemonade, and mineral notes of soil and pebble.
Medium+ tannin, still young and firm, smoother than Marsannay. Medium body, high acidity, medium+ intensity, medium alc., long length.

Medium intensity on palate, medium tannin, medium+ acidity, and long length.

Medium tannin, young. Medium+ acidity. black berry, long length. Spices (licorice and anise) at the palate end.
Less complexity than Marsannay, but more concentration flavors and aromas.

Medium+ intensity on palate. High acidity, medium+ tannin (velvet and firm). Old cask, licorice, black chocolate. Medium body and very long length.

Medium+ tannin, young but velvet. Medium+ intensity, high acidity, medium alc. Fruity, licorice, black chocolate.

[/ezcol_1quarter] [ezcol_3quarter_end] Medium ruby with garnet hue. Tree, gravel mineral, pickled black fruits, strawberry, Japanese light soy sauce, flower, incense. A bit heat damaged.
High acidity, medium in body and tannin. Tannin is very velvet. Black chocolate and espresso.

SY rating: 16.5/20 (the heat damage is a pity)
