Tequila & Mezcal tasting

La Alborada Blanco

Triple distillation. Herb (blue agave?), raw peanuts, dry soil and light nose of plant roots at the beginning. After about 30 minutes breathing, shows lemon and white pepper salt flavor (胡椒鹽). Clove note on palate.

Don Julio 70 Anejo Claro

70 anniversary edition!
Claro means “clear”, so this Anejo is “not colored”. Raw peanut, plant soil and dry soil (not so herbal as La Alborada Blanco, but more root and soil). Shows vanilla, caramel, sunkiss orange, lemonade and white chocolate. Light white pepper on palate.
Personally, this is my favorite. Brings more complexity and changes.

Los Danzantes, Arte Mezcal Blanco

This one is not produced in the regulated regions, so it is labeled as “Mezcal”, not “Tequila”. The regulation regions include Guanajuato, Jalisco, Nayarit, Tamaulipas, and Michoacan.
Danzantes means “dancers”, comes from Monte Albán stone slabs. Pronounced and explosive flavors and aromas on the palate and in the nose. Ginseng roots, raw peanut, candy, dry rice grain, and burning plastic.
