Daumas Gassac Blanc 1996
Daumas Gassac is the most famous and premier winery in Languedoc-Roussillon, and many people call it the Lafite of this region.
This 1996 blanc has medium+ amber color, with a bit sediments.
The medium and fully developed nose contains over ripe apple, dry orange, petrol, dry prune, some blossom, waxy, preserved fruits, hazelnut and vanilla.
The dry palate has medium body, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium flavor intensity. Petrol, over ripe tangerine, oak, starfruit juice, nutty, oxidized flavor. long length, quite lingering.
Personally think this bottle is close to the end of its peak. Very good.
