Rothschild family started their wine business in Bordeaux after their purchase of Chateau Lafite in 1868. Later, they purchased many other estates in Bordeaux region to expand the wine business kingdom of "Domaines Barons de Rothschild".

Besides, in late 1900's, Rothschild of Lafite expanded their business out of Bordeaux. They purchased Los Vascos (Chile) in 1988, and Chateau Aussieres (Languedoc, France) in 1999, and moderized the wine making equipments to produce economic and good quality wines. The other winery, whose wines are tasted today, is Saga Bordeaux (Bordeaux, France).

Well, some people might be confused about the Rothschild family owns Chateau Mouton and the Rothschild family of Chateau Lafite. To make it clear, actually, they are different but relatives, both are Jews(猶太人) from Germany. The Rothschild of Chateau Mouton owns Chateau Clerc Milon and Chateau d'Amarllac, and also has "Baron Philippe de Rothschild" in Languedoc region. "Baron Philippe de Rothschild" also produce many good quality "Vin de Pays" named "Mouton Cadet".
