O. Fournier is a big international wine company, which owns estates in Spain, Chile and Argentina.

Urban Argentina White 2007

This wine is made by 100% Torrontés. Torrontés variety group covers three sub-varieties, Torrontés Riojano, the most common, Torrontés Sanjuanino, and Torrontés Mendocino. These three varieties are common in Argentina, and has some relationship with Muscat variety.

Torrontés Riojano, Torrontés Sanjuanino, and Torontel (also known as Moscatel Amarillo) are all separate crossings of Mission (originally reported as Criolla Chica) and Muscat of Alexandria. Torrontés Mendocino was found to probably be a crossing of Muscat of Alexandria and another unidentified grape variety. So, all these varieties show the characteristics of Muscat variety.

Wine region: Valle de Cafayate.

M- blonde. M+ nose shows lychee, honey and sugar sweet note (as temperature goes higher), peach, light fresh grass and jasmine. Very bright and fresh nose.

M body and dry palate. M+ acidity with a little bit bitter taste. Slightly chewy. Grass, water melon skin, floral, and spicy after palate.

Centauri Sauvignon Blanc 2007

Wine region: Aconcagua, Valle San Antonio, Velle de Leyda - Chile

Pale blonde. M+ nose, grape rattan, black currant leaves, wet soil, light fig, water melon skin, baked toast and light honey (as temperature +).

Palate includes pineapple, patient fruit, green pepper, mineral, and light water melon skin note. Dry and medium body with crisp and lingering medium+ acidity.

In my personal opinion, this wine is good, but the flavors and aromas might not be so lovable in Taiwan.

Urban Chilean Red 2009

From Valle de Maule. 45% Merlot, 25% Carignan, 20% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermentation in stainless tanks, and 3 months aging in barrels.

Medium+ ruby. Medium nose with sweetness of black cherries, and wet grass.

Medium body. Black cherries, chocolate, red currant, licorice, earthy, and wood. Some black currant leaves or eucalyptus leaves notes, and become more notable with time.

Urban Uco Blend Red 2009

50% Tempranillo and 50% Malbec. Wine region is Valle de Uco, Mendoza, Argentina. Similar vinify process to Urban Chilean Red.

Deep- garnet. Medium+ nose, raspberry, pomegranate, violet, light butter barrel hint. Besides, some vanilla shows up after a few minutes breathing.

Strong tannin and medium+ length. Licorice, chocolate, black berry jam and vanilla can be found in mouth. And some dry date hint.

Centauri Sauvignon Chilean Red 2008

From Valle de Maule. 45% Carignan, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot. After 28 days of fermentation, 12 months in barrels.

Deep garnet with light ruby rim. Medium nose with black berry, black pepper, and wood at the beginning. Caramel, vanilla and some perfume nose show up after breathing. A little bit smoky note (disappear if swirling).

Medium+ acidity. Strong tannin. Black berries, wood, spices. Long length in mouth.

Spiga Red 2002

From Ribera de Duero D.O. 100% Tinta del Pais (Tempranillo).

Medium+ garnet, light brick rim. Medium nose. Black berry at the beginning, but turns into black cherry and pomegranate sweety nose. Besides, some wood, violet, light caramel, wet grass and wet soil.

Some umpleasure eucalyptus leave note in the palate at the beginning, but decreases gradually. That might be due to the long bottling time. Then the palate is dominated by black berries, chocolate, licorice and wood. With the increaing notes of black cherry, cranberry acidity, and elegant flroal flavors.

Alfa Spiga Red 2003

Also from Duero D.O., and 100% Tempranillo. 80% aging in French barrels, and others in American barrels for 20 months. Unfiltering before bottling, and 12 more months for bottle aging.

Medium+ garnet. Light coffee, juniper, black berry and mint.

Strong tannin. Candy sweet, milky, licorice and berries in palate.

B Crux Blend 2003

Medium+ garnet with rubu hue. The nose is veryelegant. Beautiful floral, vanilla, moca coffee, soil, mint, and corn syrups.

The palate is also elegant and smooth. Dense black berries, vanilla, licorice and coffee go with velvet medium+ tannin.

Like a young elegant lady.

Alfa Crux Blend 2004

From the same region as B Crux. 50% Tempranillo, 30% Malbec, and 20% Merlot. 7 days low temperature fermentation, and then 28 days fermentation in stainless. Malolactic fermentation is applied. New barrel aging for 20 months, and then 12 more months bottle aging before release.

Medium+ garnet. Medium nose with concentrated smoky brown sugar (like the hot Peiking duck!). Black berry jam, floral, chocolate, sugarcane.

Medium+ body and tannin. The same, concentrated black berry jam, coffee, vanilla, light spices, and interesting wulong tea leaves note at the end.

This one is similar to B Crux, but with a little bit stronger and sharper style. Like a gentleman.

Medium body. Black cherries, chocolate, red currant, licorice, earthy, and wood. Some black currant leaves or eucalyptus leaves notes, and become more notable with time.
